New from the Celery Stalk

Hello all you people!

Since moving, I miss you all awfully. I find that I miss most the every-dayish sort of interactions that keep one informed on all the little things about each other's lives. I keep wanting you to know little things we're doing, little things we're thinking - I want you to be involved. This seems to be the ideal solution. But because I don't want everyone of my general acquaintance to be that involved, it's an invitation only blog. And just so you know who else is reading, the only people currently invitated are the Bruces, the Beauchamps, and the Robert Greens.

You'll notice our calendar at the bottom... with the little arrow on the top right hand side you can adjust what types of things you want to see (i.e., if you already know Caitlin is in Psychology class right now and the rest of it is just getting in the way, you could hide it.)

Now you know what's going on! Love you all lots, can't wait til cabin weekend!

  2. What a peachy idea for staying in touch, BoDan, in an ever-dayish sort of way. Since that's you're aim, I'll comply. (Even though I know I will get poked fun at by certain sectors for being loquacious. And seeing that my comment comes right after Andrew’s, a man of fewest words,[sic]…well, there’s no hope for it.) There are so many things we weed out, you know, when we're being...official, or considering a broader scope of readership. That said...

I've started using Google Calendar a lot. I like what you did with it here. Didn't know you could put it somewhere like a blog. Seeing that Caitlin is in Psychology class is not getting in my way, but I tried to "hide" it just to see what you meant and I couldn't. How does that work?

We can't wait till cabin weekend either, but I'd heard that you two are prevented from joining us due to a work schedule switcheroo or some such Silly Dragon. (Just say "shoo"…) Now here you are referring to it in an inclusive and present tense sort of way and it makes my hopes rise.

Yesterday I had an everydayish sort of birthday and my number went from 52 to 53. Just like that. Quite pleasant. A really good and important word from God sort of sermon by Louis Sacran that you can hear on Sermon Audio if you are so inclined. You would be glad you did. It was that good. Well, Louis did a good job, but that’s not what I mean. The msg. was titled “Behold, I have played the fool,” and was lessons drawn from the life of King Saul. Wow.

We came home after afternoon service, which was a continuation of the msg., and spent some time just resting…which, after a lifetime of action-packed Sundays, *still* feels like such a novel thing at times. Almost a stolen sweetness; an oxymoronic sort of embellishment to the week. Easy to forget that God always meant for it to be this way. Rest….ah….rest….

Then we decided the best celebration would be to feed and dispose of the kids, (you know what I mean), eat a good supper in front of a Just-Us movie (we watched Bucket List), with a glass of wine, then let me go soak in my footed tub surrounded by candles. It was lovely. And it made me want to think that these very particulars are the ones God had in mind for every Sunday.

On Friday evening the Jacobs had M&K and Granny, U.Garvin&A.Lois, and Robert and me for a fabulous joint b'day dinner. The food was amazing. The older ones went home and then we played a game: Wise and Otherwise. very fun.

I could go on and on about other days and interesting inconsequentials, but I’ll stop here with a promise to return. You will see why in a more one-on-oneish email from me soon.

    love to both.
    From Aunt

btw, I see on your calendar at least two very enviable events. I’ve not heard of the One O’clock Lab Band, but the description makes me want to hear them right away. I hope you get to go. And I’m green to think you might go see Tony Bennet with the Dallas Symphony. Very, very cool.

I really enjoyed seeing and commenting on your honeymoon pics. Y'all were, are, and probably ever will be....(okay, I need more time to think of just the right word here...)
