abundantly
This beautiful jumble, plus a bag of coffee, is our groceries for the week.
For people like me who are always beating themselves up over something or another, it's good sometimes to step back and take a look at what you do well. Every now and then, as if by reflex, I start after myself about how we need to eat better, how I need to cook more healthfully, etc etc. But when I unloaded the groceries this week and looked at what I had bought, it occurred to me that my grocery cart looks like this every week. That means that this, plus legumes, pasta, and whatever breads and muffins I make, is our diet.
I think we're doing alright, and I'm just going to let myself be proud of that.

Looks yummy, healthy and very beautiful on your red tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteYay, you bought the small squash.
ReplyDelete:-D
What did you do with that beautiful okra?
Do y'all eat much meat?
ReplyDeleteI'm actually vegetarian for the moment, but Dan's appetite doth oft requre the fatted calf. We probably eat meat four or five days a week. The reason there's not much in the picture is that I buy large quantities whenever there's a good price and then freeze it.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the okra, I'm going to try the Mrs. Keifor Beauchamp method on it. We'll see how that goes.
Do tell - what method is that?
ReplyDeleteAnd you're doing a wonderful job, by the way. Including understanding about the relationship between the fatted calf (or pullet, or shoat) and the male of the species. ...There is one... ...at least in the Beauchamp family...
So, pat yourself heartily on the back. Thanks for taking such conscientious care of my son. XOXO
